finished the state machine! i really went deep into how the godot input system and internal game loop works because i wanted to understand every little detail, i learnt a lot about godot even though i went slightly overboard. but i'm sure something i learned will be useful later on.
i don't use separate nodes for each state, nor do i have a state machine manager other than the player node itself, it uses inner classes for each state like in the attachment.
it's really clean and fun to work with!
